I have had multiple (frustratingly pointless) convos with MS via the support option within the app. However, those emails never actually go through to the recipients.
For several weeks the scenario was that they would be stuck in your Outbox, and there was no way to delete them.įast forward to today (version 4.2048.4) and now you can read inbox email, you can compose a reply, it will sit in the Outbox for several minutes and then show up in the Sent folder. Then they finally did fix the initial issue, but then any sent emails or replies would not actually send. They released several updates, that did not fix that issue.
It started with inbox email having a subject, but a message saying "this email has no content." You could not open, reply to, or delete any messages in your inbox.
A mix of Nokia 6.1/5.1 Plus/3.1/7.2 unlock phones running the AndroidOne OS, on the AT&T network, with IMAP email accounts hosted through Network Solutions.Įverything was great (or at least worked) for years, then on October 8th of last year MS released an update to the Outlook app (version 4.2038.4), and when they did all manner of issues began. "Boxer - Making smartphones dumb since 2015"I have roughly 80 phones deployed to our group. Not having functional email on a smart phone is just unacceptable. Anyone with Hotmail accounts will be very appreciative.Īt this point I'm just going to revert back to 11S. So if anyone has simple fixes for these issues please post them here. I'd like to think I'm just an idiot and there is some simple toggle I'm missing, and they haven't actually found a way to disable attachments in email. Boxer accurately reports there are attachments with the email, but gives you no ability to access them. But I cannot for the life of me access attachments(like pictures) in boxer. I don't know if this is specific to hotmail accounts. Your emails will not send on their own/automatically when your phone reconnects to its network.Ī less significant issue, though spectacularly annoying is there doesn't appear to be any way to retrieve email attachments in boxer. Guess what those emails aren't going anywhere. The basic functionality you've come to expect out of an email client since 2005 is absent from Boxer.Įxample: You are catching up on work emails on the subway(no network connection). Until you manually go into your email folder and manually refresh. *** If you send an email when your phone is not connected to your network provider, your emails will NOT send when the connection becomes available.Īny emails you send get moved to a "outbox" folder and will SIT THERE INDEFINITELY. You can sync at best every 5 minutes, more importantly. This presents a couple of significant issues. If you are using a "hotmail" account, there is no "push" available. Boxer apparently has a "release the app first, make it work second" attitude to peoples smartphones. I posted it in the "Boxer" forums, and they just merged it with a "requested features" thread. I don't believe this issue has been addressed yet. With the update to Cyanogenmod 12S, the standard and fully functional Android email app has been replaced by a third party half baked app.
